About Hope & Wonder

We believe there is another story.

Alongside the headlines, the emergencies, and the challenges we all face — there are stories of hope and wonder happening everywhere, all the time. In every community. Among every people. Often in the least likely of places.

Hope & Wonder exists to surface them.

What we believe

Six things
(We are all trying to work these out!)
  1. Attention is a choice.

What we amplify shapes the world we inhabit. Choosing to direct attention toward the hopeful and extraordinary is an act of resistance and a practice of preparation.

  2. Wonder is far from fluffy.

Research shows that awe and wonder expands our thinking, reduces self-focus, and builds in us the resilience we need to face difficulty. Starting with wonder is not a distraction from the work. It is preparation for it.

  3. We have barely begun.

The depths of the natural world, science, music, art, and literature are infinite. Every moment of revelation opens new vistas and leads to further childlike curiosity. This is exhilarating and humbling in equal measure. In many ways we haven't got started yet.

  4. A different kind of dopamine hit.

Most platforms are designed to reward self-focused sharing. Likes, metrics, and engagement shape what we post and how we feel about it. Hope & Wonder is built differently. There are no likes, comments or algorithms to hack. The reward here comes from turning attention outward.

  5. Interdependence over individualism.

We need one another like never before. Connection built on who and how we choose to amplify is powerful, and it lifts everyone.

  6. Everyone, Everywhere.

We believe hope and wonder is to be found in the least likely of places, even in the headlines of emergency and crisis. This is our moment of resistance. As citizens all of us, from every background, every community, every circumstance we come together and remind ourselves and the world that there is another story.

How it works

Your profile is yours — whether you join independently or as part of a network.

Your profile

Create a home for the moments of hope and wonder you want to share. Speak (up to 60 seconds) or write (up to 250 words). Amplify a person, an idea, or an organisation. Name a moment of awe and wonder.

Yours to keep

Your Hope & Wonder profile is yours. Add the link to your bio, LinkedIn, or email signature — a less self-focused window into what you find hopeful and extraordinary.

Network pages

Organisations, events, and networks get their own pages — a place where all the profiles in their orbit come together. A different kind of connection with your team, your delegates, or your students.

FAQs

A few things people ask.

What does Hope & Wonder actually ask?
Instead of 'Tell us about yourself,' we ask 'Who or what is giving you hope or making you wonder?' You answer in up to 60 seconds of voice, or up to 250 words of text.
Is there a feed, likes, or comments?
There is a feed of hopes and wonders, but no algorithm deciding what you see — just the people and networks you choose to follow, in chronological order. You can favourite stories to save them in a personal collection; authors are not told and nothing is fed back to them. There are no likes to chase and no comments to perform for.
Can organisations, events, and schools use it?
Yes. Networks (teams, events, classrooms, cohorts) get their own pages that bring all the profiles in their orbit together, a human way to build connection without the self-promotion script.
Who owns my profile?
You do. Your Hope & Wonder profile is yours to keep and share. Add the link to your bio, email signature, or LinkedIn. Leave a network and your profile stays with you, as you'd expect.
Is Hope & Wonder free?
Everything is free but as a charity we ask for a one off or monthly donation to keep the space ad-free, and independent.
How is my voice note handled?
Your recording is transcribed and shown alongside the audio on your public story page. You can edit the transcript before publishing, and you can delete any moment at any time. It's your words, your call.
