Today (9/20/26) is the International Day to Observe the Moon. Not to do anything other than that. There is such wonder to be experienced simply observing and contemplating the moon. It’s a wonder it exists, and it’s a wonder that we have learned so much by observing it. So much in fact that we’ve even been there. And we’re going back soon. The thousands of people and diverse technology that will take is another source of wonder—around the world of all stripes, united in one audacious mission. And when we get there the biggest job will still be simply to observe it. This time up close and in person.
